The Anchor is run by old school friends Harry Farrow (pictured left) and Rowan Glennie (pictured right), who have carried out a complete refurbishment since taking over the pub in June 2011.
Always keen on eating and drinking out, the pair had long dreamed of running their own pub, with their home of north Norfolk – rich in seafood, local game and ales – the perfect place to start their careers. And the Anchor in Morston, a small seaside village just along the coast from Blakeney and popular with yachtsmen and birdwatchers, the perfect country pub.

Head chef Harry, is a self-confessed food fanatic and had his head in cookery books from a very young age. Largely self taught and innovative, he studied at the Leith School of Food and Wine in London before working in the kitchens at all levels under a series of leading chefs in well-known restaurants in Norfolk.

Fellow director, and general manager, Rowan has always been passionate about quality beers and the restaurant trade, and worked his way up via several restaurants to running a café and cocktail bar in central Oxford.

The now 24-year-old has now returned home to oversee the running of a pub dedicated to providing locally-sourced, home-cooked food and the finest ales from the area.
